The Millennium Excellence Foundation was founded in 1998 and hosted its maiden Prize Ceremony on the eve of the Millennium 2000. MEF has since rewarded many distinguished individuals and institutions in Ghana for their excellence in leadership and their contribution to the development of our nation, Ghana.
Founded by Ashim Morton, a great-grandson of HRM Otumfuo Prempeh I, Asantehene and son of Dr. Titus Aruna Morton.
This year marks the 2oth Anniversary of Millennium Excellence Award and outstanding individuals and institutions will be awarded for their contribution to the growth of Ghana.
The journey towards our landmark celebration has been exhilarating as we have read through hundreds and thousands of documents, highlighting leadership. Yes, there are patriots doing their bit to ensure we as people, enjoy better standards of living as seen elsewhere.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my father, HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene for his unwavering support and wise counsel in all I have done. The Asantehene has advised me on every step of the way to ensure we maintain key acceptance from the public in all that we do. The impediments to success are certainly challenging but no one said the road will be smooth.
I would like to extend my gratitude to our distinguished Governors over the years and our current Governors who have rallied around the vision of the Foundation and upheld the Legacy of the Office of the Asantehene.
We want this year to be a milestone in enhancing the Millennium Excellence Foundations profile in the world. As such all patrons and supporters will have to align themselves with our mandate, past Laureates and soon to be mentioned 2020 Laureates to strive for excellence.
I would like to celebrate our anniversary together with our African Laureates and Governors who have ensured acceptance for our global nominations. The Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize 2020 and the Presidents Outstanding Youth Prize will be celebrated in the coming months.
I look forward to working with you to make the Millennium Excellence Foundation Africa’s most prestigious Awards Giving Foundation whilst we cultivate young and mature global leaders who will contribute to creating the future for the Africa Rising concept we yearn to achieve.
I thank you all for your continued support and we look forward to the next 20 years on unlimited milestones.
